Evan Dammarell of SB Nation reports that the Knicks are willing to include both Obi Toppin and Kevin Knox in a potential trade deal, as well as a one of its two first-round picks in the upcoming draft:
It remains unclear if the Knicks are expecting more pieces from the Cavs on top of seּxton, but this actually wouldn’t be surprising considering the number of assets they are reportedly willing to part ways with in a potential swap.
With the emergence of Darius Garland last season, the Cavs decided to move seּxton to the shooting guard position. The 22-year-old found considerable success in his new role, which has clearly piqued the interest of opposing teams such as the Knicks.
As for New York, incoming second-year stud Immanuel Quickley figures to be this team’s point guard of the future. He’s shown flashes of brilliance in his rookie campaign this season, and it looks like the Knicks are looking to him as a key part of the squad’s core. Pairing him with a prolific scorer such as seּxton could prove to be a significant upgrade to New York’s backcourt as they look to build on what was a highly impressive 2020-21 campaign.
